How much does it cost to eat in Taiwan? |
Travel Info How much does it cost to eat in Taiwan? Travel Tips It does not cost much at all! I've lived year for the first half of my life and if you go to their fresh produce market they sell noodle soups for about an equivilant of only $1 US dollar. Even their restaurants are not too expensive. If you go to American fast-food places such as McDonalds, a hamburger cost slightly more than what you would find here. The pizza there is a bit more exotic and have alot of toppings. If you go to their mall, they always have food courts at the bottom floor. Be careful, their fishes have bones and their shrimps are unpeeled. Others 7-11 got many nice foods and in cheap prices. shud check em out! the average price of food and stuffs is about 1/3 of the price in US !! it's doesn't cost much~ and if u want to explore TW, try those vendors on the street or the recommend ons on the travel books! those are wut represent the real and local TW! Not much, but it can get boring having noodles every day. They start at NT$40 a bowl. Cooking at home is a good option, but some of the supermarkets are expensive. Buy your food from Costco or Carefour and cook at home. We are 2 ppl and we spend about NT$4000 on food a month. Remember that closer to Taipei, things WILL get more expensive. Living in Taiwan 2yrs Depends on what you eat. Anything range from over US$100 for a set meal at a nice restaurant to a night market small eats for US$1. Really depends. what kind of meal are you asking rate-- USD 1 : NTD32~33 in a tiny bistro, you would spend 30 ntd. for a bowl of noodles or rice only , and you may add a side dish which costs @20~30 ntd you may spend 50~80 ntd for a meal. when you find there are many local people willing to get in line to wait for a meal, that probably is a good choice in some cosy cafes, they offer business lunch menu @ 100~250 ntd or you can spend thousands of ntd to have a special dinner in a fancy restaurant |
