Singapore vs Taiwan? |
Travel Info Hello, I am planning to expatriate to Taiwan or Singapore. I ve been once in Singapore and found the cost of life quite high. Should I expect the same for Taiwan? Thanks rgds Abdel Travel Tips Cost of living is cheaper in Taiwan with exception of housing which can be pretty steep. Figure a furnished apartment in Taipei to be at least 30,000NT/month (around US$ 1000) with a one year lease. Others in taipei, the standard of living is higher than in sg. i used to live in taipei and the cost there is much much lower i am pretty sure especially on food but public transportation is a bit more expensive compared to north american prices other wise everything else is much cheaper however i would advise u to know someone who live there to help u out cuz if u look in the wrong places u might find things to be a lil bit expensive....when u buy stuff try the local flee markets and night markets rather than department stores cheers have fun !!! Generally cost is relatively comparable between SG and TW (major cities). But other than cost of living, the other factor to consider is the language. English is Primary used in SG, whereas it's only secondary in TW, which mandarin rules. Food wise, SG is more diversified or international. Taiwan worse than sg |
