Letter explaining purpose for entry to Taiwan?

Travel Info
I am applying for my tourist visa for entry into Taiwan, and am required to submit a 'letter of purpose'. I am assuming that it should tell why I am coming, and what I will be doing.
Problem is, I am coming to take a job, but I am entering on a tourist visa.
What should I put in the letter?
Any help or examples would be awesome.

HI,

You did not mention your Nationality.

You can enter on a tourist visa and then once the application for your employment has been submitted to the Foreign Affairs Dept, You can go there and get extentions while this is being processed.

Once your job has been approved , you might have to take a trip out to HK for a visa run and then get your work visa. Some people did not have to do that and got their work visas on approval .

I have friends who have done this before.

So, purpose of Entry, Tourist. Would like to visit Taiwan for a holiday -shopping and sight seeing.

Please - do NOT go to Taiwan on a tourist visa and try to work. If you are caught, you will be deported and never get a chance to come back. If, as I suspect, you're a Filipina, go through one of the agencies in Manila. Do it the legal way, it might cost more and take a bit longer but it will be worth it.
I met my wife in Taiwan where she was a worker, and I was running one of the US company offices there and know what I'm telling you.
For more information, you can look up the following places: TECO in Manila, MECO in Taipei, BOCA in Taipei, and DFA.
Lousechi (answerer above) is VERY out of touch. ALL people coming here to teach English, come on a tourist visa. Find a teaching job (can be less than a week in Taipei) and then apply for their work permit. I, and all English teachers I know here have done it like that (been here more than 3 years).
JUST DONT SAY UR COMING TO WORK HERE when applying for tourist visa. In your letter, tell about places to visit and hostels you'll stay. Can find this kind of info from the Lonely Planet Taiwan guide (In your nearest book store). One doesn't prebook hostels so they can't check up if you made a booking.
Try to get a 60 day visa - it'll give more time for your work visa application once here. Also work through an experienced travel agent - they will give you good advice. If you're South African or Canadian you won't have problems finding a travel agent experienced in helping people get to Taiwan.
AND REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR DEGREE - can't work without it.
