Travel Info I have plans to visit a 24-hour bookshop in Taiwan. Can anybody who has been to one, give me some tips please ? Travel Tips There are few stores that open 24-hour in Taiwan. Eslite bookstore on "Dunhua S. Rd" in Taipei is one of 24-hour bookshop. The other Eslite bookstore don't open at midnight. This is its address:No.245, Sec. 1, Dunhua S. Rd., Da-an District Source(s): I search it on the internet. Other Travel Tips A 24-hour bookshop? Isn't that what they call a website?! Try Here!! http://www.cashsavingsolutions.com/books... Caves Books is a major bookstore chain. In Taipei, there is a bookstore called Page One in Taipei 101 (the world's tallest building). But I don't know if these bookstores are open 24 hours. Hmm, i dont know if any are 24 hours. Most are open from 9 or 10 Am until 11 Pm or so at the latest that I am aware of... If there is one- tell me where. That would be a different way to spend the evening I suppose. I cant really say I wake up at 3 AM that often and think- "must go buy a NEW book NOW!" very often... Eslite bookstore near Taipei 101 is huge by the looks of it- I have read some articles about it being the place Taiwanese university students check out each other... perhaps this is the place to see some hotties... I cant verify that, as I have not gone yet, and I am married now so I should try and avoid leering at young university students anymore. sigh. Page one Bookstore in taipei 101 are very worth checking out. Page One, in my opinion is the bookstore with the best and most interesting English book and magazine sections. Caves is a big chain book-store with locations in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaosiung. It may have other locations I do not know of yet. it has plenty of good english teaching and learning aids inside, but its entertainment and magazine sections are a bit limited compared to Page One, (well at least in Taichung) FNAC is a store associated with Shin-Gong-San-Yue (Mitsukoshi) department store, that sometimes has good things in it. It has a better french section than English section. Other big chain stores that have english books are pretty hit and miss- some 'Nobel' book stores have good sections of English books, but there you are looking at probably 95% Chinese books, which is logical as this is Taiwan. Usually all you will see at Nobel is english learning aid books that are exciting as the dust collecting on them. try googling any of the above names mentioned. |
