Can i ride motorbike at taiwan using singapore licence? |
Travel Info please help............................. Travel Tips All you need to do is apply for an international license (as you already have a licence) - you should be able to get one at any post office in Singapore. Did you know that in Taiwan the poor motorcyclists aren't allowed to take their bikes on the freeways and highways? Others Yes, the international license works, but if you are going to be in Taiwan more than a month, you need to take it to the local DMV to have it "endorsed". It is a free service and they stamp it for you. I had my interntaional license for more than a month and got pulled over. It was a 5000NT fine, (about $150US), which in my opinion is ridiculous becuase I showed the officer my international Driver's license, but since it didn't have the "special stamp" from the Tawian government, it was worthless. You will need the IDP: International Driving Permits are issued by the Automobile Association of Singapore (AAS). To apply for an IDP, you need to produce a valid and original Singapore driving licence, your NRIC (or passport for foreigners) and 2 recent passport-sized photographs. The processing fee is $20.00 (non-GST chargeable). It may be noted that the IDP application is available only at Level 1 of the AA Centre Head Office and Level 3 of their Kaki Bukit Branch Office -Tel: 6845 9300. The IDP will be issued on the spot and is valid for one year, from the date of issue. http://www.aas.com.sg/ |
