Going to thailand 22nd June for two weeks?

Travel Info
Hi

Looking to go to Thailand around this time - mainly because I want to take in a full moon party and there is one on July 1st. Is it worth it.

looking to have a nice relaxing holdiay (first for two years) with my mates aged 28 years old. Would like recommendations on where to go, should we go to Koph Sumai, Phucket after Bangkok?

Any advice welcomed

Travel Tips
HI If you are going to fly in to bangkok ,it would be best to have a few night there first before you fly to phuket or koh-samui
see the bel-aire princess hotel in soi 8 sumkuvit rd ,it,s a great location for everything
If you go to koh-samui you will want to be in chewang beach area ,they have full moon parties there
We are going to bkk & phuket on the 2nd june ,we have been to bbk & koh-samui & pattaya but not phuket yet

If you get a suit made to measure it will cost @ 拢60 for cashmire wool , a shirt @ 拢13 ,you can take pictures and they will make you copy of it .I took picture from NEXT CATALOGE of a coat for my husband and got it made for 拢40 in pattaya ,in next it was 拢120 Source(s): been 5 times so far

yeah check before you cop off with that pretty girl !
ok full moon is a huge drunken affair, its very commercialised now... i would say its not worth it as its all just lout-ish behavior. But that depends on what you like?

But on Koh Pangyang (the island where the full moon party is held) if you head up the island to the bottle bay area you will find some fantastic chilled out beaches that have the bluest sea and the whitest sand... with water thats is so warm... mmmm take me back there! and quite often they had beach party there.

Also I was gutted that i didn't go to Koh Tao as its really beautiful - we were on a ferry and just did a quick stop off there and were heading off again - the water is so clear that you can see all the sea life swimming around without needing a snorkel or diving equiptment.

Bangkok is a fab experience but very very hot and dirty!

As you're there for 2 weeks i'd say stick to the nice beaches

(oh and avoid staying on Koh Samui as its a tourist trap - i got food poisoning there - maybe thats why i'm so negative about it!)

Go to the apple bar (tree top bar) and say hello to kate for me!

Hope this helps - if not look on thorntree - its a blog for people who are/have/will be travelling in those place now

:-)
Thailand is looking very tired and tacky as a tourist destination, with many places and people hustling the tourist. As foreigner you immediately stand out as a tourist and will be treated as such - 'Have a good time, sir?? A massage? Buy some gems?, etc. The 'tut-tut' drivers are especially notorious for taking you to destinations you never asked for! They get a commission for taking you to silk shops, gemstone shops, massage-parlours, etc.
Occasionally, you may get a chance to see the real Thailand, should you get a chance to wander down a side street to a market. But if you're not there for the 'asian experience' (after all how much of the local smells and noise can you take?) then go to Hua Hin or Phuket for the sea and beach.
the full moon party's are cool, very busy!! yeh, it is worth it. KO Tao ( very pretty and chilled)-you can get get sorted for anything on these islands, if that's what you was after.KO phanghan was cool and KO sumet. all the islands are only catamarans ride away from each other( 2hours max). phuket is expensive and busy, more commercial. it will cost you bout 拢20 pounds to get to KO Tao from Bangkok. that's your bus to the coach, then coach to the bay at loompang, then jump on a catamaran for 1.5 hrs to KO Tao. excellent views at that time in the morning. if you visit KO Tao stay at the happy daze resort!! everything is so cheap, and i mean everything!! any other questions i would be more than happy to answer. have a wicked time
The weather is still very hot!
