Travel Tips
You are referring to a Tourist Visa Exemption, not a 鈥榲isa on arrival鈥? by definition this is not a visa. As a US citizen, you will be entitled to stay in the Kingdom for up to 30 days when arriving without a visa.(NO FEES)
A real Tourist Visa obtained from a Thai Embassy or Consulate in the States will afford you a stay of 60 days which you can then extend for a further 30 days without leaving the country.($25.00 USD)

Both of the above only allow you to enter the Kingdom once, unless you obtain a multiple entry Tourist Visa before your trip.

So since your planning to stay up to 1month this will cost u nothing.....

Enjoy your trip... Source(s): myself, american living in thailand
Other Travel Tips
It is $25.00 You get it there (as soon as you step off the plane) and it lasts for 60 days (but you can get extensions).

r u going on holiday?? my father in law stays there like almost 3 months every year and I dont believe that he has to make any special arrangments beefore he buys his tix...so yes I think you can get visa on arrival...
If you have a US passport you can get a visa on arrival. It used to last for 30 days (a few years back).
1...IF HOLDING PASSPORT ISSUED IN MARSHALL ISLANDS: PASSPORT (MUST BE VALID FOR PERIOD OF INTENDED STAY) AND
VISA REQUIRED

2...IN ALL OTHER CASES:
PASSPORT (VALID AT LEAST 30 DAYS) REQUIRED.
VISA NOT REQUIRED FOR A MAX. STAY OF 30 DAYS, PROVIDED
COMING FOR TOURISTIC PURPOSES. EXTENSION UP TO 10 DAYS IS
POSSIBLE. FEE THB 500.- (1 PHOTO REQUIRED).
IF PASSPORT IS VALID LESS THAN 30 DAYS, STAY WILL ONLY BE
PERMITTED UP TO THE VALIDITY OF THE PASSPORT.
NOTE: THERE IS A MAX. LIMIT OF A TOTAL OF 90 DAYS WITHIN
ANY 6 MONTH PERIOD.
RETURN/ONWARD TICKET IS REQUIRED.

.
Yes, but just so you know, do not ask for "visa on arrival". That is the incorrect term. Actually, if you hold a valid US passport, you are qualified under Thailand's visa waiver program. No payment. Get off the plane and make your way to the immigration check point with your fully and properly filled out immigration form (u get it on the plane before arriving). You will get a stamp good for a 30 day stay. You can extend it a little at immigration offices but don't play with fire. Stay, have a good time then leave when you are supposed to to avoid any problems. Be kind, courteous and obey the laws and culture, and you will be just fine, mate. Enjoy and be safe. If you plan or end up meeting a girl in a bar or something, be respectful and ALWAYS wear protection.......don't become a statistic and ruin your life, or somebody elses life.
