Is it safe to be in Phuket on 26 May 07 due to the wet weather now? |
Travel Info I am extremely worried when watching the news about how the weather and the waves of Phuket is so bad these few days. Am due in Phuket on 26 May for a 4 day holiday. How is the situation over there? Was it really raining cats and dogs every single day? Thanks to those who answered. Travel Tips NO ONE can predict what the weather will really be like. But what is it that you are concerned with? Flood? Severe storm such that it will tear buildings apart? Those things are highly unlikely. You will only be there for 4 days - so regardless of the weather - go and enjoy it. You might not be able to go and have a swim or sit at the beach but there are many many thing in Phuket to do that you can keep yourself entertained all the time you are there. Phuket is geared to look after tourists and they get rained on every year so they know what to do. It's not like this will be something unusual they have to cope with. The rain will fall with or without you. It is really up to you if you want to enjoy your holidays. What would be nicer than having realxing and having a full body massage at the hotel spa while listening to the sound of rain on the roof? Others Only you can make the call. No one can guarantee safe or otherwise. Generally weather is inclement and unpredictable. Go with your gut feelings. DO NOT GO RIGHT NOW!! there seems to be a few huge wwaves hitting the shores of indo and thailand. pls don go there right now, even if it is safe for u , you wont be able to enjoy the beach as it will be close. wait till maybe 2 months time.. Sorry, my dear friend but the weather in May/June especially in Phuket has never been great! It's warm but heavy rain-showers might disturb your holidays on top many nice Bars/Restaurants are closed... |
