Travel Tips
Hi there-

When I was in Pattaya several years ago we stayed at the Ambassador City Jomtien. The hotel is huge and has several large swimming pools to choose from. There is also a large fitness center etc.

According to one websoite, "With over 4,210 rooms occupying 40 acres of prime beachfront, the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel is worldwide recognized as one of The Largest Resort Complexes, being set amidst magnificently landscaped tropical splendor by tranquil, unspoiled private beach. Yet, only ten minutes from the international playground of Pattaya, the fascinating tourist destination in Thailand." Source(s): Have stayed at the hotel.
Other Travel Tips
Hi, Jomtien is the more peaceful place in Pattaya. It comprises mostly hotels and resorts along the coastal road. Many locals prefer this place as it is not as seedy as the northern part of Pttaya. So for family, that stretch will be fine. Use the following links to find a place for yourself:

Have a good holiday.
Depends on your budget, but I would recommend the Marriott Resort & Spa, South Pattaya. Very good amenities and is connected to the Royal Garden Centre mall, which has cinemas, amusement arcades, Ripley's Believe It or Not, many restaurants and shops. No problem with parking, great pool, excellent service etc. etc. Try booking through Asia Rooms, you'll get cheaper rates than booking directly on the Marriott website.

ok - there is stuff in the area, but it always gets me a little.. if you want a beach for your family.. why not try cha'am or hua hin where the waters are much cleaner, the distance abt the same from bkk - and the streets not flooded with a business that might not make it an ideal vacation spot for children - I have no gripe abt the goings on, but just put that area in the adult entertainment category.. do you know where you are taking your children - - and why? if there are other great possibilities..
Very much agree with spanky. Pattaya area is not a family destination. You will be embarrassed to see the entertainment facilities there and to be asked innocent questions from your children. Other than Chaam or Hua Hin, Rayon is a good place with nice beach and clean water, less crowded. It's about one more hour drive to east passing through Pattaya. You can easily find resort hotels at asiarooms.com

Enjoy your stay.
