Can I subscribe to Malaysia's Astro TV in Thailand?

Travel Tips
You're not supposed to be able to, but it can be done. You need to subscribe in Malaysia and then get someone to set it up for you abroad.
I'm doing it in the Philippines because our cable and satellite operators here are awful.

well, if you get the illegal satellite dish like east malaysia, you can receive 300 channels inclusive of ASTRO channels :))
Uuuh...I don't think so.
Its not exactly legal but many people do it anyway. The easiest way is to find a satellite installer that has connections in Malaysia to help with the address part. If you're in the Phuket area I may know some who can help you out.
Thailand has several cable TV operators who offer a variety of channels from various Asian countries including Arabic, India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines etc etc. One of these will be able to offer you the Malaysian channel.

From what I understand is that Thai cable TV operators usually procure the signal using a powerful satellite system and re-distribute it to their customers, for a fee. The fee is collected to obtain rights to re-telecast those channels. If the satellite footprint of your channel is available in Thailand, the operator might be able to offer it, for an extra fee.
