Travel Info Is there any decent muay thai events held in thailand August of this year? Travel Tips Muay Thai takes place every night in Bangkok and alternates between Lumpini Boxing Stadium and Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium. The rate for non-Thai for ring-side ticket is Baht2,000. Standing (2nd class) is Baht 1,500. On Saturday and Sunday there are 2 matches, the first from 5pm until 8pm & the second from 8:30 - midnight. Mon-Fri, there is one match each day taking place from 6:30-10pm. Last time a question about Muay Thai events came up in the Thailand section of YA (a couple of months ago) plenty of people quoted web-pages that are out of date as to prices and the times of the boxing at Lumpini and Ratchadamnoen. I got the above information from Lumpini direct. Others Define "decent muay thai events". How "decent" do you want it to be? Go to Bangkok. You should be able to see it every week. Lumphini Stadium and Ratchadamnoen are the two biggest boxing stadiums in Bangkok, and there are quite a few others, every night of the week you will be able to see a decent fight somewhere in Bangkok, as well as in many other venues in Thailand. Fights are on tues.,fri.,and sat. at Lumphini and mon.,wed.,thurs.,and sun. at Ratchadamnoen. The one thing that is probably more popular than the fights is betting on the fights. Also, Ratchadamnoen has air-con, Lumphini does not. |
