What is the weather like in bangkok this month (i.e. May 2007)? |
Travel Info is it raining most of the time? is it warm or hot? i would like to make sure that the weather reports from yahoo are accurate. thanks! Travel Tips I live here in Bangkok and have the Yahoo weather report for Bangkok on My Yahoo page, I would have to say it's usually wrong, the temperatures are somewhat accurate, but not always. It seems like it says thunderstorms everyday, whether it actually rains or not. Today's forecast on Yahoo said thunderstorms and a high of 90F (32C), it was clear all day and we didn't get a drop of rain and it was probably more like 95F (34-35C). Except for the last two days, it has been raining almost everyday for about the last two weeks, though. In Yahoo Weather's defense, the local papers and tv aren't much better, but it often can pour in one part of the city and other parts may not get a drop. Tipically the rainy season starts now - hot, humid and rainy, that is. The north should be OK though - Chang Mai, Chang Rai. it's about 30 to 33 during the day, your going to get rain, mostly mid afternoon or early evening, it usually short lived, but can rain like hell for 10 to 30 minutes, then the sun will come out and the humidity skyrockets and your never know it just rained. it's rainy, the humid is hot and it sometimes rain then sun out of no where. You can expect it to rain on more than half of the days. However, in the tropics, rain showers are often short and hard. Usually the rain comes in the late afternoon and is all finished by 7 pm. I can't guarantee this of course! Temperatures peak around 34 degrees Celsius every day. The cloud cover provides some protection from the sun. But these temperatures are hot for just about everybody. I hope this helps. Hot, I guarantee it. |
