i am going to bangkok from delhi primarily for shopping.i have both indian rupees and USD.which of them should i get exchanged for thai bahts and from where(delhi / bangkok / airport / any other place)

Exchange them in BKK... Go to the "SuperRich" exchange on a back road near the Big C in pratunam. They have the best rates around, i've been using them for a long time now.

It's always a better idea to stick with the USD, since indian rupees may not be accepted at all Thai exchanges!

I've been to Bangkok several times and the exchanges are very reasonable outside, no need to worry. You can withdraw some Bahts from the exhange at the airport (for immigration purposes and enough for the taxi and hotel), the remaining you can get from any of the exchanges in the city!

Infact, there's a really good exchange near Indra Regent (in pratunam) where we almost always manage to get a better rate than others can give us!

why are you asking the same question twice? you should delete one of them. and to answer your quesiton bring us dollars 50 or 100 dollar bills for the best rate. lots of exchange places in bangkok and at the airport, don't exchange at hotels, your get robbed.
Just my own experience: On my last trip from Bangkok to Delhi , I tried to exchange Baht into Indian Rupees at the airport.
But it was not possible - and no indication that it would be possible to sell Indian rupees either.
so my advice is - please bring only US dollars or Euro . Or a VISA card.( or ohter card)
