The cheapest place?

Travel Info
where is the cheapest place to buy clothes and shoes in Bangkok? some say is pratunam while others JJ market.... which one?

Travel Tips
It's definitely Chatuchak Market! Prices here are unbelievably cheaper than all others.

Chatuchak market in Bangkok is one of the largest markets in the world. Located opposite the old northern bus terminal along Phahonyothin it is a must for any traveller coming to Bangkok who has shopping on his/her mind.

The market is only open at the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 7am until late night. Some of the stalls do open during the week but not sufficient to warrant a visit.

To get to Chatuchak simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Morchit which is exactly where the market is located.

WHEN TO ARRIVE : the market officially opens at 7am, get there by around 9am if not a little earlier! The market gets so busy later on that you will be happy for the couple of reasonably quiet, and cooler, hours that arriving early will afford you. Do note that during the hotter months of April and May the market can be unbearably hot, so getting there early is even more important.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE : Due to the fact that the market is so large we do not recommend that you go in large groups, it will be easier for you if there is just 2 or 3 of you, rather than a whole gang. Even if you are travelling part of a group cut yourselves up into groups of two or three and make it clear to the others that you are looking after your own pack rather than trying to keep an eye on 8 or 9 people. We also recommend that you do not use Chatuchak as a meeting place, it is highly recommended that you meet your friends somewhere else (such as a hotel in Bangkok) and then travel to Chatuchak together rather than try and meet them there. It is also recommended that you have a plan of action in case you get separated and cannot find each other. Source(s): http://www.asiatraveltips.com/chatuchakm...

China town
either one, it doesn't matter. going to both is even better.
both r cheap, yes.

basically, every open localmarket will be very cheap, especialy if you bargain with a sweet smile and a few useful phrases in Thai.
The cheapest clothes, can buy at Boh Bhee Area, but cheapest shoes buy at both places.
Everywhere is cheap if you know how to bargain for the price. Chatuchak (open on weekend only) is probably the cheapest place you can get your shopping items. But becareful of the crowds and pickpockets. Suan Lum Night Bazaar is also nice.
