Others Around 6 years ago, I stayed at the most wonderful hotel in Phuket. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember the name. All I can tell you is that it was $7 US a night, right off one of the main roads, and the door to my room was about 5 feet from the sand of the beach. And there are a surprising number of places like that... Honestly, I would recommend just finding a hotel the way I did: Book your first night anywhere, look online, try to find something that looks pretty good (and is cheap) and after your first night, just walk along the beach until you see a place that looks good. There are lots of great places to stay, and I guarantee that you'll find a perfect spot pretty easily. Also, while you're in the area, Phi Phi Island is absolutely beautiful. I'm getting ready to go back there myself in a month or so, and I can't wait. Enjoy your trip! hi see asiarooms.com ,look @ the greenmountain hotel of coconut village hotel , we are going on the 2nd of june and satying at the patong cottage hotel ,but its up 120 steps from bangla rd ( where action is) i would have prefered the green mountain but our agent did not deal whith that hotel . In koh-samui you want to be in chewang ,look for a hotel near the irish bar think one is called chaba samui ,it,s best to be in the middle of chewang beach for the action been to samui , going phuket soon The 'Amori' in Samui and the 'Banyan Tree' in Phuket I recommend staying at the Chewang Beach area as thats their man beach.
