Can I get away with 100 bucks in thailand for 3 days? |
Travel Info I'm planning to go to thailand for 3 days. I don't intend to do anything major, just wanna to relax for a couple days. Will go bar hopping at night and maybe enjoy the night life there a little bit. No, I will not pay prostitutes to have sex with me Travel Tips I wouldn't bother coming with just $100 in your pocket, your wasting you time. You can savior the 3 days but your not going to do a lot of bar hopping nor can you enjoy the beautiful sites.. Others Yes you can. Your going to need more $ if you want to stay at a hotel. but for food, bars and clubs ull be set. me Are you going to pay for accommodation out of that $100 ? Drinks are expensive wherever you go, but theoretically, you could make it. Why you would try to is beyond me. Sure you can. Just be smart with the $100. You could do it on $100 american; but you wouldn't be doing much. As for the bar hopping you'd better buy water. I think you should save up and go when you have a few more, as you say, bucks. cheers. Yes, you can live on USD 100 for 3 days in Thailand. I'm assuming that you'll be in Bangkok. Naturally, you'll have to look for cheaper alternatives. I quite like the dorms available at Baan Hualumphong (in a cul-de-sac, 25 m away from the Hualumphong subway exit at the hotel. Cost: 200 - 250 bht). They're clean, quiet and the manager's quite helpful. As for food, eat at the street stalls (check if your stomach can handle the damage. Cost: 50 bht for a plate of rice topped with vegetables and meat). Transportation shouldn't cost more than 200 bht / day if you're using public means (i.e. buses, subways, trains, river-taxis and the occasional taxi). I'd head down to the local pubs scattered on a road running parallel to Khao San road; the river taxi wharf is located nearby (Note! I passed by them but didn't have the energy or time to check them out. I can't really advise on the costs). You could try RCA - a road lined with pubs and discos. Based on this, you'll roughly spend about 600 bht / day on essentials. That gives you another 600 bht left to blow on booze in bars and an occasional club. Hope it helps! |
