Travel Info What are the reptiles to be aware of in Koh Samui? Travel Tips the two legged kind that says "come here handsome". Others Its not the reptiles, its the cockroaches you need to be aware of - preferably when you order your dinner - they like to eat them in Thai Land. reptiles on 2 legs HI YOU Only need to be aware of the MOZZIES ,nothing else will bother you BEEN 5 times to thailand ,going again on saturday to phuket lots of snakes, crocodiles for obvious reasons(but you are unlikely to meet any) and a lizard locals call Too-Kay because of the funny call they make.This blighter hangs around gardens especially ones where tourists are and look pretty innocuous.They are about 20cm long quite chubby look like they're covered in small beads and will bite you if you get close and annoy them.It's painful and as with most lizard bites quickly goes septic.They hang around mostly at night and are loud and easily identified by their call.I have never had any problems with snakes but discretion is the better part of valour ,if you see one don't go near it unless you are an expert which I'm not and presume you aren't either.You won't have any problems, I'm sure you'll be ok .Have a great time.PS It's mozzies you need to protect yourself from,they really can ruin your day. |
