Any cheap flights from LAX to Bangkok ? |
Travel Info Any cheap flights from LAX to Bangkok ? Travel Tips LAX to BBK R/T in June is very expensive - best to wait after Labor Day weekend - otherwise, here's a sample airfare found on Orbitz via kayak: Leave 鈥?Wed 13 Jun 2007 This flight leaves and arrives on different dates. Delta Flight 7860 Departs: 12:30a Los Angeles (LAX) Arrives: 5:05a Incheon Intl Airport (ICN) Coach | Aircraft: Boeing 747-400 Passenger | 12h 35m [ Layover in Seoul, South Korea (ICN) for 6h 25m ] Thai Airways Flight 639 Departs: 11:30a Incheon Intl Airport (ICN) Arrives: 3:05p Bangkok (BKK) Coach | Aircraft: Boeing 777-300 | 5h 35m Return 鈥?Wed 20 Jun 2007 Air India Flight 308 Departs: 12:15a Bangkok (BKK) Arrives: 8:00a Narita (NRT) Coach | Aircraft: Boeing 747-300 Mixed Configuration | 5h 45m [ Layover in Tokyo, Japan (NRT) for 6h 55m ] Delta Flight 7871 Departs: 2:55p Narita (NRT) Arrives: 8:40a Los Angeles (LAX) Coach | Aircraft: Boeing 777-200 | 9h 45m Airfare Taxes & Fees Total Cost Orbitz $1129.00 $86.00 $1215.00 Source(s): http://www.kayak.com/ Other Travel Tips When I was trying to buy a ticket for a friend last year, the cheapest carrier I found was China Airways (Taiwan) with reasonably good connections in Taipei (CKS). Same airline, just a plane change in Taipei. I don't agree with previous response that it's the wrong time of the year. This is the low season (rainy season) in Thailand, and flights and hotels should be at their cheapest. See above China Airlines has always been best for me. Go directly to their website, www.china-air.com. Cheap? Depends on your definition. I had heard of flights for less than USD 760.00. I finally found them. You have to book well in advance maybe 3-5 months. The flight departs in the afternoon and arrives around Midnight to 2 am in Bangkok. China Airlines now offers it for around USD 858.00 or so. Other airlines like EVA Air, Cathay Pacific or Philippine or Korean Airlines may also offer it. Thai Airways offers a direct flight and I have seen the fare for around USD 1,000 no less. I would pick different sets of dates that you could fly and see what you can get. Being that is now almost June, try September or October or November. I just looked on China Airlines site www.china-airlines.com for the week of Thanksgiving and the lowest fare was USD 858.00 round trip. which is not bad. Try the various search engines for travel. Kayak or Sidestep and they will give an idea what is available for the time you are looking. Truly, sometimes you find a package once in a while, not often. Orbitz and Expedia's hotel selection is not good in my mind. I would check www.asiarooms.com for hotels. They have about the best prices for hotels and they have reviews of the hotels. I stayed at the Chaophya Park hotel which is a definite 4 star, close to a subway station for USD 45 per night with breakfast buffet. You cannot find comparable along Sukhumvit. It's near the massage places and away from the dingy Sukhumvit. It's about a 15-17 minute ride to Sukhumvit station for the BTS skytrain connection. There are 4 good restaurants to chose from. The hotel is away from it all. See www.bangkok.com or www.thaiwebsites.com for more info on Bangkok. And for more of the male oriented things to do check www.bangkoktonight.com Good luck and enjoy your trip. www.china-airlines.com/en www.kayak.com www.sidestep.com www.expedia.com www.orbitz.com www.asiarooms.com www.bangkok.com www.thaiwebsites.com www.bangkoktonight.com |
