Travel Tips
Hi, Pattaya is about 100km southeast of Bangkok city. It is a holiday destination for foreigners and even locals too. There are attractions to visit too, like Ripley's Museum, Hard Rock Cafe, Marine Aquarium, etc.

Have a look at this link to see what other attractions you can find there:

So even for you and your school friends, you can find fun things to do. At the beach, you can go snorkelling, para-sailing, banana boat ride, water scooter, and of course, swim.

Disregard those other posters and answers to tell you that only adults go there. These people do not know Thailand well and do not know what is actually happening in Pattaya. He reaps what he sows, as the saying goes. So go and have a fun time.

You can pass on this message to your parents. This place is not affected by politics in the capital Bangkok.

Have fun and most of all, enjoy your stay and learn about a very different culture and traditions.

Pattaya is a place to go to if you love the night life and enjoy being around many people from all over the world. Its pretty much 'Party Town'. There are many things to do though during the day. I went there 2 years ago, and I went to a tour to a little island right across from Pattaya and spent the day there.
Pattaya is near the shooting of two tourist early this year. Other than that, everything is okay! Bangkok is about 1 hour from Pattaya and because of the political unrest, things might spread to Pattaya. It is situated in the Gulf of Thailand. It is far from the troubled south!
Pattaya is a tourist-oriented town located 150 km south-east of Bangkok. It is nowhere near the "Southern Unrest" which is occurring 1000 km south of Bangkok in 4 of the provinces bordering Malaysia. In terms of bombs, etc. you will be very safe.

Pattaya is famous for its sex tourism. There are over 50,000 sex workers there. People from all over the world holiday there and some go home with a wife. Some others go home with assorted bacteria and viruses. Watch how much you drink and inform yourself about sexually transmitted diseases. These are your biggest dangers in Pattaya.

Good luck in your competition.
Pattaya is southeast of Bangkok. Like any other countries, Thailand has some areas that are more problematic than others. Pattaya is not in one of those areas. They are thinking of southern Thailand in Yala province. That's a long way from where you are going.

Go, have fun, learn about the culture, enjoy.
