Travel Info Going to Puket, Thailand mid August with kids, whats is there to do? love sight seeing and traveling. Weather? Travel Tips I've been to almost every tourist attraction in Phuket. If you don't mind your kids seeing large topless European women and men in tiny speedos, Thai men that look like women, and Thai women that look like men, then all the beaches are really nice. I really hate Phuket. It's "over-tourism" to the max. If you insist on being in Phuket... The best waterfall is Bang Pae. It is a beautiful hike with many pools to swim in along the way. The best place to watch a sunset is Laem Phrom Thep. It overlooks the Andaman from a high point on the SW tip of Phuket. The best viewpoint to see the Andaman, all of Phuket, and Phang-Nga Bay at the same time is Khao Khad Viewpoint (Cape Panwa). If you want a more family friendly place, go north of Phuket to Khao Lak. Khao Lak is exactly one hour from the airport in Phuket. It takes almost an hour just to get to the bottom of Phuket sometimes so you aren't losing time by going to Khao Lak. It's quieter and the hotels are almost all 50%+ off during August. August is the end of rainy season so you may catch a few downpours, but they are generally disappearing in August. In my opinion it is a much more beautiful place for sightseeing. You are close to Khao Sok park which is more beautiful then the cliffs of Krabi. You are also near the Similan Islands. Enjoy! Other Travel Tips i once knew a girl from puket, Actually it is spelled "phuket" And it is pronounced "fukk-et" I think Yes spelling is Phuket but pronounciation is poo-ket Hi, look at this link for the attractions in Phuket: http://www.tourismthailand.org/destinati... As you can see, there are many places you can visit with your family there, enough to keep your family occupied for a few days. Weather will be tropical, rain or shine. Rain will not last long, so you can still have time to venture around. enjoy Phuket. Raining seasons in Thailand! |
