Do you think it's safe to go holiday nowadays to Hatyai, Thailand? |
Travel Info I'm so worried that it might be unsafe? Since the last bombing of the few Malaysian's favourite tourist spot last 2 weeks.. Anyone been there this few weeks? Travel Tips I just came back from Hatyai. Tourism is down over 70% and hotel rooms are only booked at <20% capacity. That to me means people still feel it is not safe in Hatyai. The problem with Hatyai, Yala and Narithiwat is that the terrorists indescriminately kill anyone whether buddhist, muslim or who ever happens to be in the way of the bombs. They also make a habit or targeted the more popular places like the markets, theater or any other places where people gather routinely. Hatyai is not safe and all you have to do is read the news and you will people still getting killed in the southern 3 provinces of Thailand everyday. I agree with the other poster, unless absolutely necessary to go to Hatyai, find someone other than Hatyai, Yala or Narithiwat to visit until the situation gets under control. It is very dangerous as armed bands of terrorists will bomb and shoot anything in site. At least you know what to expect. it's safe ,but dont be long there. hatyai is always great for gals ,,get ur thing done n pack up I wouldn't recommend going to Hatjai. it is the capital of the North but is a dirty, smelly city. I would much rather go to PiPi or one of the islands on the east coast. who the guy who thinks hat yai is the captial of the north? Sorry but I don't recommend going there unless you have too. You never know if the terrorist are going to strike again or now. Alot safer going somewhere else north of hatyai. |
