Is Krabi to Phi Phi island easily accessed? |
Travel Info I'm flying to Krabi but intend to stay on Phi Phi island. Will have some baggage along, how am i going to get to Phi Phi from Krabi airport? Travel Tips by boat. recommend you spend one night in Krabi and get with a tour agent about boats going to Phi Phi. Others Oooh, I went to Thailand last year and went to Krabi and Phi Phi. Are you going to stay in Krabi at all before you go to Phi Phi? I loved Krabi because there were so many nice restaurants and beaches and weren't as crowded or touristy to me compared to Phi Phi. My friends and I just asked around looked at brochures to find the cheapest boat tour to take us to Phi Phi. Some of the companies will pick you up at a certain hotel and take you to the dock where you can boat your way to the islands, which is why I was asking if youw will be staying a night in Krabi first. It can be really cheap so I'd wait to book that til you get there (if you do it online before you go, you could get way overcharged). If I remember correctly, we took a boat with a bunch of backpackers (we sat on the top of the deck and sunbathed with the wind blowing in our hair) and I think it took about 1.5 hours maybe to get there. Don't worry about baggage, though you should try to contain your stuff to a large backpack (not a suitcase) becuase they basically get thrown into a big pile on the ship, but it's pretty safe. We had suitcases but left them behind and bought backpacks instead. In any case, you are going to have fun!!! Oh yea, if you haven't already purchased one, I highly recommend the Lonely Planet Guide for Thailand because it has some great deals for hotels and also good spots to look at that maybe all of the tourists don't get to see!
