Thailand will not let foreigners do work that Thai people can do. Unless you have an international company that will hire you and transfer you to Thailand or you are qualified to be a English Teacher here. Nowadays, work permits are rather hard to find due to a large number of illegal immigrants from various Asian countries- India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines, who have flocked there for work. A work permit allows you to work only for that particular company and foreign workers are not allowed to switch jobs. Pay in Thailand is also not exactly what you might expect. travel writer/ lived in Thailand You sure can go as a tourist but working without a work permit will be difficult. No one will hire you. So if you want to work, you need to find employment first and have the company help you in the work permit application, otherwise you will face problem getting a permit yourself.
