Kanchanaburi or pattaya?im going with frens? |
Travel Info i have limited time to spend outside bangkok..i can stay in either places for maximum of 2 days...so what would be better...visiting kanchanaburi or patong...in each case,suggest hotels under 1000 baht Travel Tips Kanchanaburi, Pattaya, or Patong. And your first stop is Bangkok. You could hire a driver to take you to Kanchanaburi. It is about 2 hours drive from Bangkok.There are many good sight seeing places there. You could see the floating market, snake shows, elephant rides, and tiger temple are just some.You can go on-line www.ratservice.com They are excellent private drivers and guides. Very cheap and courteous. I use them everytime I visit. About $8 US per hour for your own English speaking private driver and guide. Patong and Pattaya are beach areas and it is best it you fly there (Too far from Bangkok) for 2 days. I would chose Patong (this is in Phuket) Beach for more lively atmosphere.If you want to look for some action.Pattaya is a more quieter. Oh... You could also check out Muay Thai kick boxing in Bangkok. Good luck and enjoy your trip. Others you question is confusing. you say pattaya and then you say patong? you sure you want to come here? Patong is in Phuket, as pattaya is only about 140 km from Bangkok and you have only two days go to pattaya. I wonder if this is a hoax question Kanchanaburi is a historical site, while Pattaya is beach, sand and fun(sun)! Kanchaniburi is great if you're into seeing historical sites and tourist areas like the bridge over the River Kwai, the Tiger Temple, or a few other spots. The floating market at Damnong Saduak is in that area as well (very cool experience). I did all three in one very long day with a guide, but they were all worth seeing. Pattaya is a totally different deal. Pattaya is a beach community, not as nice as Phuket, but people flock there just the same. If you and your friends are into partying and hanging out on the beach, then Pattaya is for you. If you're into history and seeing a few different things then the area around Kanchanaburi is for you. Either way, you'll love it! Enjoy your time in Thailand. Cheers - kanchanaburi = nature and history plus clean nightlife Pattaya = crazy place mostly popular with single men. Lots of western food etc. Not very good beaches. Really only a good place for a single guy or heavy drinker to spend a long time. It's a popular place for those who want to 'check out' like Nicholas Cage in the movie 'Leaving Las Vegas.' Check out pattayamail.com for local news. |
