Is phuket affected by the recent unrest situation in southern thailand ? |
Travel Info Is phuket affected by the recent unrest situation in southern thailand ? Travel Tips no, the unrest is about three hundred km south of Phuket, your have no problem in that area at all. Source(s): living in Thailand Other Travel Tips No, the tourist places are generally unaffected.. same in the philippines.. but I would not take any travel warnings lightly. I have a 6 year old daughter and live in Korea. Thailand has the cheapest holiday packages from here , but we have avoided Thailand this year. Many other friends of ours here have gone without any problems. No, Phuket has not been affected by the insurgents. It is in southern Thailand, but our troubles are in the southeast. Yala and Narathiuat provinces are on the Gulf side while Phuket is on the Andaman or southwest. The government is vigilant about keeping trouble away from tourist areas. It's about economy. If tourists stay away, businesses falter etc etc. I live on Koh Samui and we hear about it, but don't ever see it. From the situation itself, no effect/related to Phuket. But some tourists are afarid of it. The government's quite seriously to protect any unexpected situation here including in other big department stores or hotels for the security. For your comfortable, just aware of yourself & avoiding for unsafe place or suspected person should get rid of your stress. But so far I didn't hear anything here. I'm living in Phuket now. No, you need not worry. :-) |
