I'm going to Bangkok, Thailand next month. Anyone have comments about this hotel, Bangkok City Inn? |
Travel Info Any feedbacks about this hotel u stayed? is the hotel clean? I heard that Bangkok City Inn is a little rundown. Thanks Travel Tips I went to Bangkok in March. I stayed at the Royal Princess Larn Luang because it was fairly close to the "Grand Palace", which I wanted to visit. I have 2 tips for you on your trip. #1 - When you are at the airport, there will be people waiting at the exit after you pick up your luggage. Do NOT get a ride from them, as they will charge you twice as much as a regular taxi. All you have to do is go up one floor, and there is a taxi line. This will save you some money. (Hotels often charge more than a regular taxi, so I recommend just finding one when you get there) #2 - When you are in Bangkok, ALL prices are negotiable. Prices are not set in stone. Central World Trade is on the other side of Rajdamri Road and Siam Paragon, Central Chit lom, MBK, Siam Square are a short walk. The rooms maybe are a bit small but you need to take in the location/price. If you are coming to Bangkok for shopping and are on a very limited hotel budget - I think its about US$30 a night - then its a good choice. Pratunam market is a five minutes walk. There are some other hotels near there at about the same price but they have a longer walk to the shopping malls. The Bangkok City Inn, is well located to reach all the parts of the city, including the express way leading to the airport. It is situated opposite the Central World Plaza, The Erawan Shrine and the Pratunam commercial and shopping district. All rooms have private bathrooms, a must in my book. If its that one you'd be right in the dirty part of town and I mean that two ways. It is a bit dumpy and has no view at all. If you are looking for something better but more pricy try Asia hotel or Novotel. There's also a nice hotel near the famous Temple called Wat Pra Kaew called The Royal Hotel. It historic but I don't think it is too expensive. Anyways there are even more expensive hotels and there are cheaper hotels. The Oriental hotel was once rated as the best hotel in the world. Rooms there start around $250 up per night I would guess. If you are looking for a guesthouse or cheap backpacker try looking for hotels near KaoSanRoad. They start around 5 dollars a night and are very basic. Some of them don't even have their own bathroom though. |
