Do people have to pay for hospital bills in thailand,? |
Travel Info I have heard today of someone getting a first check up and a blood sample being done at the 3,000 baht is this correct Travel Tips of course you have to pay your own hospital bills, unless you have medical insurance that will cover it. you can get care here for 30 baht in a public hospital or pay more in a private modern hospital. Check up and test at a private hospital at 3,000 is a normal charge. Others spent time in hospital, cost me about 3,000 but spent 3days in there hands,so the answer is yes you pay. allways make sure you know the cost before hand,or unlike me just pay up and be thankfull. it happend to me Ensure that you have the new form of the e111 form, its now a card (you can apply on line and its free) and when you get over there if you need hospital treatment then you may have to pay but when you get bk to england your insurace will re pay you Yes, how ever much we knock it only the British has NHS, which means you can walk into any hospital and be seen even if your broke. Every other country and you have to pay! I had to deal with people who thought the NHS was a world wide thing and because they were British they wouldn't have to pay in another country...you do I wonder how the hospital get paid. In the US. or around the world, even in Thailand. Yes, I think you have to pay; even though, it might not be that much like US. Ask first before you check in. You don't want to over pay the bill later. Yes, you have to pay for medical treatment in Thailand. I used a private Thai hospital for some emergency treatment, Xray etc. The bill was 1000 baht and as a westerner I can expect to pay double the Thai national rate for most things. So I think the bill you quote is high. |
