It all depends what you are planning to do there. All are nice places to visit. There are a lot of Temples that you can see in Bangkok and the surrounding areas. try phuket, its only a 1hour plane trip from bangkok and a really great place !! don't forget to visit pattaya If you want to see the best view of Bangkok, try lebua hotel at State Tower. There is a highest outdoor bar & restuarant , Sirocco, where you can enjoy the beautiful Chao Phraya river (the greatest river in Thailand).
