Is 5-7 days too long for a thailand trip? what are the best times to visit? |
Travel Info Trying to plan a trip for the next half of year. Have to take compulsory 5 days leave...company policy...sob sob. Travel Tips 5-7 days is very short if you're coming from outside asia. There's a lot to see in Thailand. Pattaya is not worth seeing unless you are a lonely guy. If you only have 5-7 days you should just stay in one area. If you like the beach stay in the Phuket area its much more beautiful than Pattaya. (Madonna has a house in that area) You could stay in the Bangkok area if you like shopping and temples. There are some day trips just outside Bangkok too so if you stay there you could visit the ancient temples in Ayuttaya (1 hour from BKK) or your could go to Kanchanaburi (2 hours). It has the famous bridge over the RIver Kwai and some waterfalls. Plus there more in BKK. You could also stay in Chaing Mai in the North. It ahs a lot fo hilltribes and local crafts etc plus temples, waterfalls shopping nightlife etc. If you come to Thailand the best time to come would be in November or December. It's touch cooler than and the heavey rains are usually passed by then. If you come before the rainy season will be here. Thailand is still okay during the rainy season but the weather can be unpredictable. The only advantage of the rainy season is that it is off season for tourists so prices are cheaper. Last note. If you've got lots of money go ahead and book your hotel(s) in advance. But in Thailand especially in the rainy season you don't need to book a hotel. There are hundreds of hotels and guest houses all over the country which you can walk into and get a room. Others No Pataya beach,it's lovely & the girls are very friendly. 2 weeks 5-7 days is not very long for a vacation in Thailand. You would have to go sightseeing everyday for 7 days just to see the main sights of Bangkok/Central Thailand and even then there would be a lot more still to see. A really simple 7 day holiday in Thailand would be 4 days in Bangkok and 3 days in Chaing Mai (North Thailand). In this time you could do kind of introductory sightseeing. Alternatively, you might want to head to a beach/island, for example, Phuket, Koh Sami, Koh Samed. The best time to come is November-March. The ideal time is December. In the past I have written some very long answers about what to do in Thailand. You are welcome to check them out. I'm not going to post it again for this question as I don't want to get a reputation for posting the same thing too often. is not too long at all. it depends what you wanna do there, but you have plenty of choices... I would recomend 2 days in bangkok and the rest in the south... Phuket or Krabi... if you are not a sea lover, then you can go to the north, Chiang Mai. everything about Thailand is just so great that you will have to go back there again!!! 5-7 days are never enough. Travel has the area around 513,000 sq.meter. It is so big to explore. Then one week never enough. But if you have that much time. 5-7 days are enough for th egood memory, You can plan what you like. Mountain, beach , Island or culture. Just do it! IF you can - stay at least 2 weeks. IF you can't - then relax and do what you can but DO NOT try to cram in as many places as you can in the short time. You will only exhaust yourself and it won't be a holiday. 5-7 days you have enough time to see a few sights in Bangkok and some shopping and a couple of night outs. Plan to have at least ONE day that you have no plan but relax and take a break from the heat. Best time is November to Early March but it still be hot and humid. So... DO NOT rush. There are so many things to do and see and for 5-7 days you will NOT get to see everything so don't try. Have a great trip. |
