Is it possible to buy a satellite dish and have it mounted and pointed once I'm in Bangkok?

Travel Info
Is it possible to buy a satellite dish and have it mounted and pointed once I get the right directions? I want to get an AFN decoder through the BX and bring it to Thailand. Since I am retired military I am an authorized user but I want to make sure you can get just the dish before I buy the decoder. Does anyone know if just the dish is available on the market in Thailand. It would be nice to be able to watch any of several football/baseball games depending on the season plus fox news etc.

Thanx in advance for the info's and assistance

It is possible to but a satellite dish here. However i agree with Gerald, UBC is a better choice then getting AFN. On the JUSMAGTHAI compound they have AFN in the cafeteria. Not much on except Fox news.

new information: no UBC (TRUE VISION) does not carry Fox news, however it does carry 3 football games, two on early Monday morning and one Tuesday morning during the season, as well as baseball games but too many damn Yankees games. i don't think it worth the cost just to see fox political right news. you can get BBC and CNN here. Other Travel Tips
Large satellite dishes are definitely available here, I was at a home show recently and there was booth selling large dishes, plus you do see them all over roof-tops here in Bangkok. You may have an issue with your landlord regarding large dishes unless you own your own property. The local cable/satellite company (True Visions) broadcasts 3-4 NFL games a week here, and baseball is on practically everyday (a lot of Yankees games), and tons of soccer. You may also want to investigate Slingbox, if you're not familiar with it, you are able to view any program through a cable or satellite connection in the states through a computer. I have True Visions, it's not bad, here's the wesbsite and the channels they offer: http://www.truevisionstv.com/eng/ubc_pla...
Good luck.
I cant imagin that Thailand is much different than where i live Vietnam, and i watch more live English football here than i did at home, and its just on normal cable TV.Same as CNN and the BBC news.
Google PSI satellite dish and you can see what they offer. PSI dishes are available stat. or synchronous (with a micro motor attached) if you pay a bit more. I think you could set up the whole caboodle for around 20000 including de-scrambler.

The overpriced monopoly service UBC is basically used tv for the masses but has BBC and CNN
