Travel Info Anyone went to bangkok during June 07? How is the situation there? Travel Tips although the Thai people loves foreigners, they beleive that their political situation is an internal matter...There is no harm to foreigners. You can visit Bangkok but avoid the crowd gathering at Sanam Luang, only because of traffic delays around that area. It was worst last year...but even at that time niether I or any other westerners here felt in danger..... enjoy ur vist here... Source(s): American living in Bangkok, Thailand...2 1/2 yrs and counting Other Travel Tips Not safe, they are on the verge of having a civil war. my sister just got back. its safe, the tourists dont mind and the Thais dont mind the tourists the threat of civil war was there about a year ago and the tourists didnt even know it (I saw it on CNN) go ahead, there's lots of cheap stuff to buy It's fine. I'll be there in a week :) We go every 6 months - don't worry :) Bangkok is a GREAT place :) I live in Thailand and i can tell you that everything is fine I have lived in Thailand for many years now, and it is as safe as ever. There was a little scurmish about 9 months ago but that is effectively over now. Some political tensions in the air now and again, but nothing to worry about. Generally speaking Thailand is a safe country, you don't bother them and they won't bother you. If there is any problem then it will certainly not affect the tourist areas. Come and enjoy. |
