the Novotel opened about the same time the new airport opened. it's right next to the arrival terminal but it's very experience.

I think the hotel you are referring to is the Queen Garden Resort, it's a few minutes from the airport by taxi, and costs about 1000 baht compared to the Novotel which costs about 4500 baht, it's been there about a year: http://www.hotels2thailand.com/thailand-...
