How much does a sak yant temple tattoo cost in thailand? |
Travel Info i'm going to thailand next summer and i want to get a blessed sak yant tattoo, i would just like to know how much one would cost? Travel Tips I never knew that temples will charge devotees for sak yant. If they do, it just shows how commercialized some temples are these days. Sak yant should only be performed on a teacher-student basis traditionally and there is no real 'fee' to it (if they do charge, it won't be in any significant amount). Some ajarn who are not monks do charge a fee which can range from 1,000 baht or more. Real sak yant requires a lot of time and patience as the students need to know the rules and taboos he/she should observe once the yant is being tattooed on the body. You shouldn't be able to just walk in and get one.If you're not a buddhist why bother with the spiritual side of it and get a tourist copy for a couple of thousand baht or take the middle ground and get one done by a tattoo shop off the tourist trail.Go mad and have it done with bamboo.Ouch! |
