Early morning arrival in Bangkok (3 a.m.)? |
Travel Info I am flying into Bangkok on the 2nd of August and arrive at 3 a.m. I am only staying there until 1:15 p.m. on the same day. Should I check into a hotel for those 10 hours or should I just hang around the airport? I was thinking that if I check into a hotel at the airport at least I could get a few hours of sleep and maybe a Thai massage. What do you think? Travel Tips Have you checked into the rooms that are available in the airport? They are short stay, available for a maximum of 6 hours. That's enough for a nap and a shower. Then you can go have your massage, get something to eat and perhaps do some shopping. I had my family stay last year in Bangkok and it worked out very nicely. Don't worry about the visa comment. It all depends on what country you are from, but I would assume you have already researched this information. Source(s): Living in Thailand Use the airport bi-monthly. Other Travel Tips Go for the Thai Massage. It would be good for you after the long flight. good planing There is a 'transit hotel' in the Bangkok airport with rooms in both Terminals 1 and 2, but it is relatively expensive at $40 USD for 4 hours. If you leave the airport, you'll need a visa, so prepare for that. I've not stayed in the hotel at the airport, and I've only heard that it was outrageously expensive for the relatively "3 star" experience provided. Good luck with your trip! I would go for a hotel.. there are close ones to the airports. Thailand is very cheap and you can get some nice hotels for not so much.. and even cheaper ones that are not so nice. I was in Thailand over the New Year and we waited in the airport for 4 hours and it was a long wait. I would go for the hotel!! Plus during the am hours some airports have strict policies about sleeping and what not and if you are alone definitely safer to catch some Zs in the hotel. Go ahead and check in a hotel, preferrably an airport hotel. Make sure to inquire about schedule of transfers to the airport and also request for a wake up call in case you oversleep. A massage will be very relaxing. |
