What is the best cheapest 5 stars hotel in Bangkok? |
Travel Info i'm going for Vacation to Thailand and i can't imagine a vacation without 5 stars hotel, any advise cheap and a walking distance loc from the crowed Travel Tips Forget the stars---Stay at Om Yim Lodge. Great location, clean, safe and under 1000 Baht per night. Nice restaurant on site, Sky Train out the front door, walking distance to night life and great, friendly staff. Others the Davis hotel is not techically a 5 star hotel but it certainly feels like it. My parents stayed there when they came to visit me in Bangkok (I live here) and they were very impressed with it. I wrote a full review on my blog http://travelhappy.info/thailand/bangkok... The proper 5 star hotels in Bangkok - Peninsula, Oriental, Sukhothai, Banyan Tree - are not that cheap. The Oriental is considered Bangkok's best hotel and also the oldest. You can see the current prices of these hotels and quite a few more on my blog too: http://travelhappy.info/thailand-hotels/... If you prefer the idea of a boutique hotel in Bangkok, there are some great choices, like Arun Residence. I wrote about those too. These are my personal favourites as they have a bit more character and charm to them. http://travelhappy.info/thailand/boutiqu... Hope this helps. Would be interested to know where you finally choose! I live in Bangkok I would recommend the Peninsula, although not quite walking distance to most locations in Bkk, it is quite easy by Tuk-Tuk, taxi or skytrain to almost anywhere. It is now rated the best hotel in Bkk and has a promotional rate of $190.00 through the end of September. It was rated by Travel and Leisure Magazine the best hotel in the world a few years back and consistently rates amongst the top five worldwide. I've recommended it to a few friends who have said it was worth every penny. The Oriental is also good, but overpriced. http://bangkok.peninsula.com/ Live in Bkk Well, the 5-stars hotels do have a reputation to uphold, so you are more likely to find 3-stars hotel with 5-stars price but not 5-stars hotel at 3-stars price. The 5-stars hotels are located in the choicest locations and provide impeccable standard, so all these will add up to the price. So bear with the cost if you want to stay in a 5-stars hotel. Go to http://www.sawadee.com you can make the comparison yourself as to "best" vs "cheapest" of ANY star rating hotel in BKK. To ask for "best cheapest 5 stars" is not possible. Don't expect 5 star to be cheap. Sure, Thailand may be cheap by westerners standard but the rule "you get what you pay for" still applies. |
