What is a high school in Thailand like?

I'm an exchange student going to thailand. Right now I just got done with 10th grade so I should be in 11th in Thailand. But there are no websites telling me what high schools are like, its all elementary schools. So, do they have the same sports, what do they learn, ETC...?!?

Wow! This is my childhood all over again. I was an American Field Service student to New York, Portchester high school that is. But, it was about a light year ago..
About schools in Thailand. There're tremendous differences firstly whether you're going to private or public school. Same as everywhere else in the world, private schools have rich kids and things are much different. Then, city school or provincial school. Those are lots and lots of differences.
You experience in school (and the community for that matter) will be much different if you come to Bangkok, or go to the province.
Like other big city in the world, Bangkok has lots of fun things to offer to school kids. Lots of hang out place, but can be quite dangerous for foreign high school kids. On the contrary, provincial schools would be more simple and in exchange you have an experience of a genuine Thai way of life with more openess and friendships.
In general though, Thai students study very hard because of the rate of competition for the university entrance. High school students take one examination to compete nationwide for prestise universities like Thammasart or Chulalongkorn. As the high school final two years are the years that counted and decide the rest of the students' lives whether what career they would be pursuing, most of the students will spend so much time studing. Many are taking special tutor courses outside and inside the schools they are attending.
Sports: Thai students play pretty much the same sport as European and American students except there's no American football and baseball. Most popular now would be soccer or tennis. Golf still is available only to rich kids.
What do they learn? Pretty much everything. Thai students study too much: Courses are pretty much like the US high school kids but more compulsory and pact with loads of science unless you choose the language side. That again also depends on which school you're going to.

They all learn the same thing as us and have sports and I'm pretty sure they wear uniforms but that may just be for the primary school. not sure though. I'm sure the high schools are a bit rougher because of living conditions in thailand.
