Elections are due/promised in Thailand around the new year,and it's something that all free governments and people should care about.We need all the friends we can get,strong friends,who have legitimate mandates in south east asia
I think it is too late, in other words, a bit lengthy. Moreover, according the Prime Minister, the election is due by this December.

delaying the election to next year,will give the junta more time to prepare themself for control all the thai polictic.

for sure they will and eager to become a politician after they get retirement (especially the general sonthi). if they can be a politician,then another step is to be a prime minister, a dictatorship prime minister that control everthing in thailand.

Ok. I read it. I think all Thais people here express their fair and frank answers to your question. I sat and watch the deliberations of the constitution drafting process and I realised that each section were taking very very long time. The academicians and those people who were selected and invited to be the drafting committee of the Constitution were making sure that they produce a good constitution that is fair and cover all points to ensure democracy for Thailand and it鈥檚 people.
It鈥檚 fair to say that because of this lengthy procedure, the election will be postponed. I鈥檓 pretty tired of politicians and all these military people who think they own the wisdom to decide what best for the country already to make any comment on who is better than whom.
I respect also those who were invited to draft a new constitution as many of them were my teacher in college and some I know personally of being of good characters and intelligent.
My question or rather my plea is that please don鈥檛 throw away the constitution and draft a new one every time your guys decide to pull this kind of stun. It鈥檚 really tedious listening to my lecturers debating on several few key words or even minor points in a section of this highest law for three hours and couldn鈥檛 come up with the final before putting it to vote and break for dinner and coming back to debate it again until nine p.m.
Frankly, I鈥檓 worry of what would happen should an election is called. Taksin returns for trial or even participate in the election. Whether the couple people can get away with whatever they鈥檝e decided to do. I surely bet that a new tradition of coup has again be established, although A COUP SHOULD BE THE THINGS OF THE PAST. And that multi party coalition government will be too weak to make any progress in the country administration and that coup will then happen again.
Please be fair in judging Thailand and her people.
