Am thinking of going to Phuket anyone know of where to get good deals? |
Travel Info Am thinking of going to Phuket anyone know of where to get good deals? Travel Tips Now it all depends on where you're flying from and what type of deals you are looking for. If you are flying within southeast asia, I would highly suggest flying Air Asia (www.airasia.com). You can get really cheap air tickets on their website...if you book in advance, you can get tickets that are soooo cheap you wouldn't believe it. I actually booked a flight with them before that cost me a whole $29!! If you are looking for inexpensive places to stay, I would suggest checking the Lonely Planet for discount lodgings. Also I would suggest doing a search on yahoo for cheap places in phuket. I must say, do not listen to lonely planet when it suggests that you stay in Phuket Town. We stayed part of our visit on Karon Beach and it was amazing, then we decided to take the advice of Lonely Planet and stay in Phuket Town ((big mistake)). We all go to Phuket for the beaches, right? Well Phuket Town is nowhere near a beach and it is rather difficult to get a tuk tuk driver to take you to and from the beach when you are staying in Phuket Town. There are plenty of disount places to stay, just make sure you get a place with hot water as some places will not have hot water. Hope you have an amazing trip. I am actually planning on going back to Phuket sometime in the fall. Others check out the website www.travelmood.co.uk they have some good deals to the far east. hi i am just back 2 weeks ago , we booked with www.globallatedeals.com , we went 3nts Bangkok 10nts Phuket for 拢730 each from Edinburgh You could book flights and hotel separate ,it might work out cheeper We flew with QATAR then AIR ASIA and air asia charge you extra if you have more than 15kgs luggage ,and it,s quite expensive We stayed in the patong cottage hotel ,it,s @ 20mins walk from the town centre and 200baht for a taxi and its up a very STEEP HILL , would not recomened it You could also try www.southalltravel.co.uk been thailand 6 times ,once to phuket and would not go back , to many tourist,s True, Phuket town is the cheapest area, but it is too far from the beaches even if you have a rented vehicle. |
