Are there other countries near Bangkok that I could go to? If yes, what transportation I should use?

Travel Info
I'm planning to go there for 5 days and 4 nights. Any countries near Bangkok that I could go to to maximize my stay. Thanks.

Travel Tips
Sounds like your on a packaged tourer and it will be all you can do to see Bangkok in that short of time. One day will be in guided tourers at least. the rest will be up to you, but trips to Cambodia and Vietnam or the Philippines is out of the question.
More than likely you wont get to see much of Bangkok in that little time.

Next time plan two or three months.

Have fun in Bangkok and don't forget to go for the high price Thai Massage, it well worth the $100 bucks, pick what you like from the fish bowl and enjoy.

Have fun. Source(s): Many trip, on my once a year required exit trip, from the Philippines. Next time I pland to spend two weeks and see all the stuff I have missed in the past
Other Travel Tips
have you ever tried looking at a map? 5 days is not enough stay in bangkok.
there's a lot of things to do in thailand. bangkok is a busy city full with nightlife so i would suggest you to take a flight to chiangmai which is opposite of bangkok life
Just want to clarify - are you saying "country" or "city"? Bangkok is a city, Thailand is a country.

If you want to visit another country then Cambodia and Myanmar are the two closest COUNTRIES to Bangkok but it will still takes time to get there. And I will not recommend you to visit either if you are only spending 4 night in Bangkok. This is hardly enough time to see just the city of Bangkok alone.

Plan for longer stay next time.
If I read your question correctly, you are looking for some country near bangkok to visit?

If its countries I would say Singapore or Malaysia ... both have budget airlines accessing bangkok so travel will not cost too much.

For 5 days, I would say go to Singapore, visit Sentosa, the Zoo, Night safari and the shopping belt. Take a day to travel by bus to Malaysia (Johor Bahru) it cost about USD$1.50 to go and return. You cna do a bit of shopping and see a bit of malaysia as well.

Hope this help ... have fun and a great holiday
Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. 5 days is enough if you are staying put in Bangkok but not enough if you are exploring the whole of Thailand. I will suggest exploring the whole of Thailand as a cheaper and more interesting option. Places that worth exploring are Hua Hin (3 hours drive from Bangkok) which is a beach resort, Krabi and Koh Samui if you are a nature lover.

I am not so sure about Koh Samui but there are wonderful and very nice caves and small islands in krabi where you can kayak, scuba dive or snorkel. There are also many other things to do such as trekking, learning local cuisine and thai spa, which is very very cheap. If you are the more adventurous type you can even learn from certified rock climbers. For Krabi and Koh Samui you can take a domestic flight which is less than one hour. Enjoy!
