Thailand question, Pattaya and Bangkok?

I am a male, late 20's going to have some fun in Thailand. Drink, enjoy the beaches, the history, shopping, etc....
What is it like for a pretty good looking, blond hair, blue eyed, surfer, all american type?
Are 95% of the women there prostitutes? I don't want and will not be having any sex with any women while I am there. But how do I know if a women I meet is a prostitue? Is it impossible to actually meet, have a good time, hit it off with a regular girl that is not selling sex?
Do the prostitutes actually ask you what you want or tell you what they are offering?
Sorry to sound stupid but I have never been nor have I ever experienced a prostitute.
Any advice or experience of what is like would be great help. Thank you!

lol... its mostly bar girls who want sex with foreigners. The locals dont want. So if someone nice beauty in leather pants and bra comes out and take your hand while you walk, then its not a girl from the local bank.
Bar girls is every where, all places - all cities. In the tourist areas they are in the beer bars, and in non tourist areas they are in the karaoke bars. So you don't have to spend time in Pattaya.
If you are interesting in a girl, then only buy her a drink. If she say yes, then she go for it with you, if she say no thanks, then she maybe not think you are a pretty good looking, blond hair, blue eyed, surfer, all American type.... lol

for the most part, they're pretty straightforward and even if they weren't you can totally tell from the environment/clothes/looks if they are. um.. i'm also assuming they can hold their liquor. Patpong bars, Soi Nana, Soi Thaniya..very evident.. a "regular" girl won't be gagging for it after just meeting you..a big heads up. oh and usually there is NOT a mixed crowd.. like "regular' girls don't hang in the same places as "bar" girls, maybe with the exception of Siam Square , Hard Rock Cafe, RCA etc..
LOL,they usually come out with lines like,'hey, goodlooking,want good time,me cheap'.or 'You want fun with pretty girl'.
It would'nt matter if you were the ugliest man going,you'd still get the same lines.Its an experience.
On holiday with parents,one girl was hitting on my dad and told him to get rid of my mum,LOL.
