Majestic Historical & Intellectual:

- National Museum "Pipitapan Satarn Hang Chart" (near Khao Sarn Road, on the other side of the big, big field called "Sanaam Luang") - the place used to be a palace until King Rama V (The Hier Apparent in "The King and I") turned it into a museum. Weapons & Jewelry Artifacts = Great place to start.

- The Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) - Landmark of the Country. Thai kings used to live there until 100 years ago when they moved a few kilometers away.

- Day trip to Ayutthaya, the old capital and once fourishing trading entrepot of the far east. Ride elephants and drench yourself in wartime history.

- Wiman Mek (Mansion in the Cloud) Palace (Phra Tinang Wiman Mek)

- The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) - see it at dawn for the most glorious beauty

- Jim Thompson's house near Rachathewi. The Thai-style mansion of a former American intelligence officer who became a successful and famous silk merchant in Bangkok.

Shopping

- Siam Paragon for high-class stuffs, fancy restaurants and sport cars (they've got Lambougini showroom there)

- Suan Lum Night Bazaar for nighttime shopping and souvenirs: big place, good food, good price. Always bargain to 1/2 price and then compromise later. Don't forget to smile.

- Jatuchak Weekend Market (Talat Nut Jatuchak) for clothing, home deco and sometimes illegally smuggled antiques

- Pantip Plaza, Silom, and Nana area for pirated software, movie DVDs and porn.

- Khaosarn Road - fake degrees, secondhand travel books, collectibles and souvenirs.

Exotic:

- Soi Cowboy, only foreigners are welcomed, darn.

- Soi Patpong near Silom Road. Never go see the shows upstairs because they will rip you off.

- If you're Japanese, go to Soi Taniya near Silom Road instead...they have girls in sailormoon uniform there.

I would like to recomence Muang Boran. (Ancient City)

The place that we make artificial architectural/ building as the original in real place. But at this place, you can see many places in just one area.
