Shopping??What particular products or items would be a nice buy in Thailand? |
Travel Info I'll be travelling next week. I need sincere answers here. Travel Tips there's a lot of things you can buy in thailand 1) gold/jewelries...the best place is at Chinatown located at Yaowarat Road or MBK (short for MahBoonKrong) beside Pratumwan Princess Hotel 2) Thai Silk ...get it at Jim Thompson at Surawong Road 3) clothes at Platinum Center, Krung Thong Plaza, Baiyoke Towers I &2 located at Petchaburi Road & Pratunam 4) bags if imitation you can get it at Pratunam...beside Baiyoke Tower...the store's name is ProLeather...you can ask the salesperson where you can get different kinds of imitation designer bags...4) if you want the original ones..you can get it at Emporium Dept. Store at Sukhumvit Road, Gaysorn Plaza, Central Dept. Store Chidlom, Central World Center (i think) and lastly at Siam Paragon...most of these department stores are just next to each other. If you want souvenirs or home decors...you should visit the weekend market at Chatuchak...take the sky train going to MoChitr and then you can find the best bargain there but most of the time its too crowded and very hot. Lastly, if you don't want to move around that much...you can get most of these things at MBK or Mahboonkrong...its a little bit higher but more convenient for you...gold prices are the same everywhere except it depends on the quality and workmanship. Others I would buy small home decoration items, like table top deco, storage boxes, etc... big department stores like Central carry good selection at reasonable price... Thai silk & 'batiks'. Good luck! (- -,) Fantasy jewellry, Tailor-made dresses, silk, lovely handbags, Shells,table-sets a.s.f. It's a shoppers paradise... I got my cell phone there and saved about 150 bucks but then I had to switch providers back in the states and that cost me 100. I like the clothes, tailor made suits, dress shoes. Got a lap top and I think it was about the same as it would be here. Jewelry for sure but don't get taken. craft, clothing, incense, handbags |
