Travel Info i want to go to malaysia, but i will stay first in thailand,my friends told me we can go to malaysia by train? could u pls give me some informations how to get there. im going to singapore also try to give me some infos how to go there by train.tnx Travel Tips www.tripadvisor.com can help you with your train - but I just came back from Thailand and Singapore. thailand was wonderful - chaing Mai is now one of my favorite places in the world ( literally) - but Singapore was horrible - giant commerical police state. It's basically like going to large mall where everything is much more expensive than in the US, it's not even good shopping, it's like Crocs for 50 bucks a pop, Gap shirts for 40 dollars. SO not worth it. Best wishes Others U can take a budget flight from Thailand instead. It cuts time off travellin, wud take over 10hrs to get to Kuala Lumpur ( capital of Malaysia ). Trains might be cheaper but i wudnt recommend it.I dont like seatin in a train too long, its boring lol..Best u book ahead as the prices of the flights go up the closer ure to ure departure date.Sometimes u can even get flights for about 20USD..it depends on when u book it.We've flown with this airline a few times, its economical & good service.U can check the link below.Hope it helps! And i agree wid the person, Singapore is not worth goin to..lol Have fun!Tips from ur friendly Swedish couple.. www.airasia.com www.ktmb.com.my from Bangkok (HuaLampong Train Station) - Butterworth...then you will reach Penang (you can take a boat or hire a van...the travelling time is approx. 21 to 22 hours ;> Yes i can.. u make take any train route connecting to Malaysia.. the simplest way to do is via bangkok station.. take the direct train to Penang.. the is a train that runs once in 2 weeks. its called "orient express" it run from Thailand through malaysia and to singapore and its very expensive$$$ its for the rich. Best way to travel from thailand to malaysia, its by www.airasia.com cheap and convenient If you look at the ktmb website, you will note that the train service runs from Bangkok all the way to Singapore. So you can take a train to Kuala Lumpur, and then from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore if you like. There are sleeping berths on-board so pick a train that suits your time. |
