If you look for places just outside the key area of Patong Beach, you will find many resorts and guestrooms with budget pricing. You can look at www.directrooms.com and book directly with the hotel/resort/guesthouse from any place that looks suitable to you. In general, most of the places in Phuket are clean to stay in.
