Bangkok decent pub area?

What area of Bangkok has a decent amount of tourist pubs that are not in turn surrounded by a load of sleasy bars? I was thinking in general of sukhumvit rd but its a long road... :o)

you might try around the Emporium area - Sukhumvit around 33 or 35 or so.. there is the Londoner and across the street btwn Emp and soi 22 is Dubliner - but lady bars are never too far away either... some classier ones on soi 33, near Novotel area..
hey i just got back 2 the us from there and i would go to the cheap charlies and drink its on nana down i think soi 11 or 13 near charlie browns mexican resturant,it has a lot of expats that go but watchout theres a sleazy manager that works in c.browns hes from austrailia and hits on all the girls.It is hard to find a respectible pub on sukhumvit.I will going back in the next 4-5months and if you want to hangout i am 25 and goodlooking. its hard there sometimes b/c of all the differences wadenc2bkk@yahoo good luck by the way try RCA its another college hangout spot

Sukhumvit Soi 20-22, many drinking pubs. In fact along the sois on Sukhumvit, you can find many bars/pubs and they are pretty decent. Just avoid Nana Complex and Soi Cowboy and you will be fine.
