Travel Tips i been here the whole year and still haven't left Source(s): me Other Travel Tips I Live and work here!... - I go out sometimes.. basically i am here. - I was there last October. Is that all you want to know? oh - I would say that many many of us on this forum.. many who live there - many who live upcountry and come and go, like myself... I'm here. My friends are here. A lot of people are here, and have been here. I saw a Yahoo answer the other day where the person was recommending that the asker stay away from Bangkok. She even said "I don't even know if you can get in there." Unbelievable. Because of the (flower-party) coup, the violence in the south and the New Year's Eve bombings, I think many people believe that this is a gotta-be-insane-if-you-go place. In fact, the bars and tourists sites, the river boats, the hotels, the taxis, the tuk-tuks, the airport(s) are full of foreign travellers. Dangerous? Just look at statistics. Maybe buses and motorcycles and coconuts falling on your head are real risks - but you can do something about minimising those risks. This has got to be one of the most-visited places in the world - like New York and Disney World. Anyway, don't be afraid. Don't forget the April/May heat - otherwise, great and beautiful city. yess each year |
