Tourist Visa for Thailand (can you help?)? |
Travel Info I'm going to Bangkok (Thailand) in May for 1 week then flying to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) where i will probably be staying for 6months to 1 year. My flight is booked to depart Heathrow in may and come back to England in October. On my flight slip it states that Thailand will require a tourist visa, will i have any difficulty getting this, i only plan on staying in thailand for 1 week. When i get to Cambodia i'm gonna apply for a tourist visa for 1 month then extend it to a business visa. I've been told that i can do this unofficially and should be able to stay there for several months. Please give me some advice. Thanks Travel Tips You need only one "visa on arrival", valid for one month, not a tourist visa. Then it is not more necessary to pay the tax (700 baht). The government has recently cancelled it. Others you get given an automatic 30 days when you get stamped in so if your only staying for 1 week you will not need to apply for a visa (if you have a British passport that is). when you arrive in Bangkok at immigration, when they stamp your passport it will have a date stamped and you have to leave the country before this date me! i've flown to bangkok 3 times ladylinz is right you can stay for 30 days when your visa is about to run out you can cross the border for 24hrs and when you come back in you get another 30 days ask dogmeat 17, but dont go to any of the hotels he stays in you may get arrested(poor kids) http://www.thaivisa.com/272.0.html... http://www.thai.nu/visa.html http://www.csmngt.com/thai_visa.htm... you get issued a visa when you land they staple it to your passport & remove it when you leave, you have to pay 500baht departure tax when you leave thailand & you have to ahve the right money as they dont give change |
