Does anyone know what is going on at soi 8 in pattaya with the bar closers.? |
Travel Info Well the bars are still open but there is a new owner at the prince hotel and he or she wants the bars and vendors out of there.i heard the other day that 50 thai guys came into soi 8 to shut it down per the new hotel owner.the police were called and all 50 guys went to stations but the police had to let them go and said that the contracts are good through nov of 2007.and after that the hotel owner will try to shut the bars and vendor down from operating there.well that is one of my favorite sois there.i was told by my girlfriend and i also read it on pattay people news.So i guess its true but has anyone eles heard about it? Maybe someone has more info on this.the colum is also on pattay people newspaper site.Kind of sucks!!! Travel Tips The Prince Hotel has a new owner. He wants the vendors out. The vendors claim they have a valid contract since they claim rents have been paid through November. They are currently at an impasse and will be returning to the cops shop to try and negotiate. The new owner is under no obligation to honor the contract unless it was written into the sale contract...TIT - This Is Thailand Others Maybe some dispute between the hotel owner and the tenants there. Quite common in Thailand. Guess the owner has to pay for allowing shops to remain open late or something and might want to avoid that extra expense for himself. sounds like Jim knows what hes talking about here, no further answers are neccessary. |
