Do i need a passeport if im driving to Tijuana?

Travel Tips
No passport required, take a copy of your birth certificate.

By the way, why would you want to drive to Tijuana? Leave you car in the US, and walk across the border.

Driving in Mexico is dangerous!

Driving is fast/furious, and traffic laws as you know them are almost always disregarded. Roads are small, crowded, and not always in good repair. Parking is difficult.

If your car is leased or you're paying a car loan, you may not be legally allowed to take the into Mexico. Check before you go.

Check you US insurance policy to be sure you're covered. If you are covered at all, your insurance is likely good for one week and not more than 20 miles from the border. Insurance is not required in Mexico, so claim against the other party. Frequently, the person who causes the accident just drives away. If you have an accident that causes injury or death, you WILL go to jail, and your car WILL be impounded.

My suggestion, don't drive into Tijuana.

Be VERY careful... go as a group!

Suggestions from someone who has been living in Mexico for 3 years.
