Moving to toronto - yonge and shepherd? |
Travel Info Hello there, I am moving to Toronto from London UK. A place called Yonge and Shepherd. I was just wondering if any one knows about the hood and if there are places to chill out (cinemas/ restaurants / museums) etc in the vicinity? Cheers Travel Tips It's a beautiful place to move, so many restaurants and bars etc, The Keg is in the Sheppard centre which is my favourite but you can just walk down Yonge and you'll find endless places to chill out, the theatres are also right there. =) Others Movie theatre & restaurants are in your walking distance. Subway (TTC) is also in your walking distance. Get a TTC map to find nearest museum and hopefully you can go there by TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). You'll find lots of restaurants & pubs in the area. Cinemas are in the younge/shepard centre - right there. There is a fair amount of shopping as well. For museums, I can't think of any but you'll be right on the subway line so from there you can easily get to the ROM, AGO, Bata Shoe Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame, etc. It's a little far north but it's a good area, and exstreamly convenient to be on the subway line. Worked in the area a couple of years ago. lots of things to do there. dont worry. Its the north end of the city. The subway will take you into down town so it is easy to get around. This is a good safe and convenient area with a lot to do. Virtually everything is within walking distance. yonge and sheppard is an intersection..there's restaurants and fast food joints all around there...there's two small malls around there as well...sheppard centre and north york centre, and there's two cinemas around there too. the subway is right there on the intersection so if you want to go downtown or anywhere else it's convenient. |
